Cold Traps

Cold traps are used together with vacuum pumps to collect condensate products that arise from humidity or solvent evaporation. Cold traps are used with all types of vacuum pumps from rotary vane pumps to high vacuum turbomollecular pumps. Coolants are either liquid nitrogen or dry ice with acetone. Cold traps are normally contained in Dewar flasks to ensure that the coolant is insulated and remains active for prolonged periods. KGW manufactures a range of cold raps and accessories and cold trap systems mounted on trolleys with connections for vacuum pumps.
Cold Trap with Spherical Ground Joint two sizes are available with 150mL and 250mL condensate capacity. The cold trap finger is fitted with standard S29 spherical glass joints. Cold Trap with Spherical Ground Joint & O Ring The cold trap finger is fitted with S29 spherical glass joints and a O ring for improved sealing. Picture shows version with valve for top condensate removal.
